Shortly after our first themed shoot, the girls from Oh Deery ( a dear roomie and friend of mine) and I started to dream about a shoot that had been planned to a tee. I wanted nothing more than to shoot a session to promote my lovely friends, so we got to planning! It wasn’t too long after that, that Nathan (our main man) sent me a super secret text. I’d never received a text from him before this, so I immediately knew something was up. He continued to say that he would be stopping by while Brittanie ( our leading lady) was at work, and that I needed to keep it on the hush hush. He came over later that evening and began to tell me that he was ready to pop the big question to my sweet room mate and he wanted to use our themed shoot as his opportunity!
We got to planning as soon as I heard his lips utter the words, “I want to ask Brittanie to marry me.” So…I began to poke and prod Brittanie in the way only a roomie could, and found out all kinds of inside info that we used to our advantage. Late night study sessions turned into wedding planning hours that Brittanie refused to believe would be “any time soon” and 2 months of planned secret conversations went on, and Britt had NO idea. Go team.
When the big day came around, I had a hard time believing we had all kept it a secret for so long, and couldn’t wait to blaze through all of the props to get to the last set-up. Briley and Megan did a stellar job, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the total package that this shoot ended up being in every way.
Our second set-up was back in the woods, where the girls hung mason jars filled with flowers from the branches. It was pretty dreamy, and Brittanie still had no idea! But…Nathan was growing ever anxious.
Our last scene was one that Brittanie began to romanticize back in December…and although her sweet sister Briley threatened that “she wanted to have her pictures made in a tent more” … we decided that the tent set-up would be the perfect place for the big question, and Brit still had no idea what was about to happen. I love how sincerely sweet these next two pictures are…the last individual shots as a single woman!
We asked Brittanie to read the blue and yellow book with Nathan for the majority of this part of the shoot. About 10 minutes in, I told her we needed some more color in the shot and asked for a little bit of green! Little did she know…
One of our late night “study” sessions, Brittanie mentioned that she would love to be proposed to with something other than your normal humm-drumm box. Nathan bounced around a few ideas, but this was obviously the right choice! Great job Nathan! You really knocked it out of the park!
I couldn’t be more pumped about Brit and Nathan’s December wedding! YES!!!
