I had the incredible privilege of photographing Laura and her new hubby Josh’s wedding this last Saturday, and let me just tell you now…I am so excited about posting their GORGEOUS wedding! But before I do, I thought you would like to get to know the beautiful, BEAUTIFUL bride! So, meet Laura! One of the most gorgeous people I know inside and out. Her sweet spirit can put anyone at ease and her love for the Lord is incredibly evident in all she does. She is so in love with Josh and was already beaming with excitement about the big day when we met for our shoot! We started out the day at the Hickory Street Annex and ended it out at the Dallas Arboretum! I hope you guys love these as much as I do…she takes my breath away every time!

It was a little chilly outside by the time we made it to the Arboretum…Lucky for Laura she had the most beautiful jacket I think I have ever seen. Anthropologie never lets a girl down and I LOVE a bride who loves Anthro!

And…because I just can’t resist! Here’s a sneak peek from the wedding!

Adoration defined : the way Matt showers love on Lindsey in every action and glance. Plain and simple, that is the best way I can describe the love these two share. Lindsey and Matt share glances full of love. Not 7th grade love, but passionate, you were made for me, I’m captivated by you love. Matt thinks he is sneaky in front of the camera and that I didn’t see him dote on Lindsey, but he is wrong. Lindsey however is not shy, she is forthright in her love for Matt and it is so clear to me why these two compliment each other so well. I can’t even express how much fun we had together, they are naturals in front of the camera ( yes, you Matt!) and made my job a joy! I am so overjoyed to be their wedding photographer and can’t wait to share more about them with you when April rolls around! Lindsey and Matt, you have a love that should be pursued and revered. I admire your love.

I’ve known Jonny and Candace for three years…they are the couple that you can’t help but want to know because their love for each other is so evident. Not in the “we touch too much kind of way” but in the “I’ll support you no matter what” kind of way. When they found out little Lylah was on the way, we all knew that she was going to be absolutely adorable. I mean, how could she not be?! She is as cute as can be and a real trooper too! Sometimes I wonder how I make it through long cold shoots! She totally showed me up! Feel free to fall in love with this family, I dare you not to! It’s close to impossible!

Snow family, you are such a blessing! I count it an honor to have the opportunity to capture these moments for you!

I am not asking you to make these tacos. I am begging you. MAKE THESE TACOS! and then…invite me over for dinner. (In 20 days that is. fruits and veggies for me till then remember?) These things are incredible. They are breath takingly, mouth watering, life changing, know what they are talking about on food network when they say how good something tastes, delicious. Just do it. Tyler Florence has done it again!

MEXICAN POT ROAST TACOS

Serves 6-8

Active Time: 2 hours, 30 minutes

Pot Roast

Extra-virgin olive oil

3 pounds shoulder of beef

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

1 large onion, cut into wedges

2 cloves of garlic, smashed

1 28 oz. can whole San Marzano tomatoes

3 dried red chilies

1 T ground cumin

1 T ancho chile powder

1/2 bunch fresh cilantro (about 8 sprigs)

Water

2 T red wine vinegar

For serving:

8 fresh medium corn tortillas

3 c. freshly shredded romaine lettuce

1/2 bunch fresh cilantro

1/3 lb. Cotija cheese, crumbled

2 limes, cut into wedges for garnish

1. Drizzle beef shoulder with oil, then season with plenty of salt and black pepper. Set a large, heavy based pot over medium-high heat. Sear on all sides until you have a nice brown crust, adding additional oil to the pan as necessary to prevent sticking.

2. Add onion and garlic to the pot and stir until they carmelize a little and have contact with the bottom of the pot.

3. Add tomatoes with juice, chilies, cuming, chile powder, and the 1/2 bunch of cilantro. Add 2 inches water to the pot. Crush tomatoes wtih the back of a wooden spoon.

4. Cover and simmer about 2 hours, until the meat is fork-tender and comes apart with little resistance. Once cooked, use a wood spoon to break apart the meat. Season wth salt and black pepper to taste; add the vinegar.

It started at summer camp…Krissy and Kyle would have never seen it coming, but love swept each of them off their feet and here we are! These two are two of the most sincere people I have ever gotten the pleasure to be around. The complement each other so flawlessly, and I am a little obsessed with them if we are being completely honest. Krissy is the organized one, the one with the plan, the one with color coded everything. Kyle is the artistic one, the creative mind with color…everywhere. There is no doubt in my mind that they are meant to be together and I am so glad that they are a part of my life.

Happy New Year and happy first photos of 2011!

If you hadn’t noticed yet, there were a lot of purple balloons and one sad lonely yellow one. Kyle can’t stand purple, Krissy LOVES purple. Naturally, he let Krissy win, and we compromised by getting him one balloon of his favorite color…yellow.

I love their Toms!!! Just wait till you see what they have planned for the big day! You’re going to LOVE it!
